At the end of April, Iceland Eco‑Business Park (IEBP) took part in Blue Open House 2026, hosted at the Iceland Ocean Cluster as part of Iceland Innovation Week.

Justine & Óðinn – IEBP
The event brought together a wide range of companies, partners, and visitors, all gathered to share what they are building and to connect across the blue economy ecosystem. The day opened with an introduction from Dr. Alexandra Leeper, CEO of the Iceland Ocean Cluster, and Úlfar Karl Arnórsson (JBT Marel) delivered the opening remarks.
IEBP community under the spotlight
IEBP had the opportunity to host its community in the Cluster’s kitchen space, creating a lively and informal setting for exchange. Present on the day were companies connected to the park, including Hof Garðyrkja, iFarm Iceland, Thermal Beets Records, Sopla Farm, and Hringvarmi, alongside many of our neighbours and close collaborators such as Kadeco, GeoSilica, Íslenska Gámafélagið, Sveppa, ORF Genetics, Nanna Lín, SeaGrowth, SeaThru, Agro, and the Circular Library Network.
It was a strong turnout, and what stood out most was the energy in the room: people were engaged, sharing their work openly, and genuinely interested in what others are building. Events like this remain a simple but effective way to connect and strengthen relationships across the ecosystem.
Óðinn presented his residency work on material reuse
We were also proud to have Óðinn Finnsson-Bell (LHÍ – Iceland University of the Arts) present the outcome of his design residency at IEBP. His work on material reuse and circular design drew strong interest, and we are happy to share that he will continue developing this work with us over the summer. A dedicated article on his project will follow soon.
We would like to thank the Iceland Ocean Cluster for hosting the event and opening their space to the wider community. A special thanks as well to Louann Greaud for her excellent work on organising the event and her strong logistical coordination throughout the day.
Overall, Blue Open House once again showed the value of bringing people together—creating space for exchange, strengthening connections, and giving visibility to the work happening across this growing ecosystem.
